  3. Use our daytime study hours
  4. Use time between classes

PROCRASTINATE

Delay or postpone action
put off or defer (an action) until a later time

CAUSES OF PROCRASTINATION

  • Self-downing↘️

We put ourself down after we not be the best once
  • Low frustration tolerance↘️

A concept used to describe the inability to tolerate unpleasant feelings or stressful situation

Image result for goals

Assalamualaikum w.b.t

Yesterday (26.7.2018) , I learn two modules which is GOAL SETTINGS and TIME MANAGEMENT but in this page i will only explain GOAL SETTINGS . In this lecture , we met Miss Mariyah again . She was stunning as ever . So now i want to explain to all of you what i learnt yesterday.....

GOAL SETTINGS

GOALS are end TOWARD which you direct your EFFORT

HOW GOAL SETTING IMPROVES PERFORMANCE

Goals ;
  • Direct your ATTENTION to the task at hand.
  • Mobilize EFFORT
  • INCREASE persistence.
  • Promote the development of NEW STRATEGIES when old strategies FAIL

CHARACTERISTICS OF GOALS

Self-chosen                       Moderately challenging

Realistic                                  Measurable
Specific

Our goals are not set by our parents , teachers or friends . It is ourself who choose our own goals . To set our own MODERATELY CHALLENGING goals we have to revise our own past . Our goals also need to be MEASURABLE and finite . REALISTIC goals are attainable which makes it easy for us as student . Lastly , our motivation to archive something will increase if we have SPECIFIC goals .

SET GOALS for THE NEW SEMESTER

THE REASON WHY STUDENTS HAVING DIFFICULTY CHANGING

They DON'T ;
  • THINK THE CHANGE WILL HELP
  • USE THE STRATEGIES CORRECTLY
  • ACHIEVE SUCCESS IMMEDIATELY
  • ALLOW ENOUGH TIME TO SEE THE IMPACT OF THE CHANGE
  • KNOW WHAT AND HOW TO CHANGE

THE FIVE-STEP APPROACH TO SETTING GOAL

WRITE DOWN what you want to ACCOMPLISH
WRITE DOWN any OBSTACLES
WRITE DOWN any RESOURCES
LIST your MOTIVATION
REVIEW and REVISE your tentative GOAL STATEMENT

COURSE : ACTUARIAL SCIENCE

MY GOALS : I hope to get DEAN every semester and get the title ANC

MY OBSTACLES :
  • Lack of focus in class
  • waiting until the last minute before starting to study (procastinate)
  • Failure to use blocks of time constructively
  • spending to much sleeping (Studying on bed & falling asleep)
  • Can't resume studying after study breaks (play phone)
MY RESOURCES :
  • Advise from my PARENTS
  • Advise from my LECTURER
  • Excess to Perpustakaan Tun Abdul Razak (PTAR) to gain more knowledge
  • Advise from my FRIENDS
  • Internet
MY MOTIVATION :
  • My Parents . Its quite cliché but they are the one who provide my needs for the use in university (school fees , learning material etc) . so I need to repay them by making them proud of me
REVISE GOALS STATEMENT :

  • I will get Dean every semester and get title ANC

Regarding the group work we have to make a video about 5 interesting places in UiTM Tapah Perak . For the individual work , we need to make a portfolio either in a blog or wordpress . I chose to make a blog for my portfolio .

Assessment
video                            40%
portfolio                       60%

What I learnt that day?

WHAT is MOTIVATION ??
Something that can be a REASON for doing something

HOW TO INCREASE OUR MOTIVATION ??

Set challenging but REAListic goals
Set LEARNing GOALS
See the VALUE in the task
Have a POSITIVE attitude
Use positive SELF-TALK
Increase your LEVEL of INTERACTION
Use ACTIVE study strategies
MONITOR your learning
LEARN from your MISTAKES
See our PARENTS pictures

CHARACTERISTICS OF SUCCESSFUL STUDENTS

 Active
Independent
Motivated
Strategic

We as a university students MUST to be active not just in academic but also in co-curiculum . A succesful students will not be a spoon fed but they are independent in managing their own life in university . Motivation is the most important things that students need if they want to archive their Goals . We also need to use the right strategic to learn based on our style of learning.

Learning Styles Inventory

I'm a visual learner so I need to use VISUAL LEARNING STYLES such as;
Create mind map
Rewrite your notes using different colors
Put them where I can view them frequently

SCHOOL vs COLLAGE

STEPS TO COLLAGE SUCCESS
Attend Every Class
Get Organized
Manage your Time
Be On Time
